11 am Official Opening: The Mayor of South Ribble, Councillor Barry Yates accompanied by  the Mayoress, Mrs Kath Yates
The Official Opening will be followed by the presentation of Art and Photographic Competition Awards together with the competition judges' observations.

2 pm Origami workshop by STEPHEN WATSON  This will be the fourth year in which Stephen has delighted everyone by his skill and patience. Try it - it's free!

2 pm Watercolour workshop by EDDY WILLIAMS - part I
(Part two is Saturday 31st May at 2 pm. This is to enable participants to work on their paintings and discuss results with the tutor at the end of the week. All ages (children must be accompanied), all abilities. Please book in advance.

3 pm Family history workshop by MARIA SUMNER
There will be a second worshop on Thursday at 2 pm and also a display in church.

3.00 pm LANCASTRIAN BRIGADE BAND AND CORPS OF DRUMS   (Military Band)Weather permitting this event may be held on the green behind the Priory, otherwise in the church.
A full programme for this concert will be available at the church door on the day of the event. Light refreshment will be provided and the raffle of the day will be drawn at 4.45 pm.

7.30 pm RAY TAYLOR SWING BAND
The vitality of the memorable music combined with the visual aspect of the band will provide an event of style and class which will provide lasting memories.
A full programme for this concert will be available at the church door on the day of the event. The raffle of the day will be drawn the interval when light refreshment will be provided.

7.30 pm GEORGE DOBSON of WREA GREEN
 This entertaining and humorous after dinner speaker will talk about village life and a trip to Moscow.

Open 1 - 5  and 6.30 until the end of the evening event
7.30 pm OPERA NIGHT - presented by Chris Gill
THE CITY OF MANCHESTER OPERA will perform two one act operas - Puccini's Gianni Schicchi (a comic opera, including the aria 'O mio babbino caro' and  celebrating the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth) and, after the interval, Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana (a tragic opera, including the 'Easter Hymn' and the famous Intermezzo.
A full programme will be available at the church doors on the day of the event. The raffle of the day will be drawn the interval when light refreshment will be provided.

Open 1 - 5 and 6.30 until the end of the evening event
7.30 pm THE SUE RYDER FOUNDATION fund raising team will present a fashion show at which orders may be placed and garments purchased. All of today's income - the raffle, exhibition/refreshment donations and this evening's retiring collection - will go to support this deserving charity. No expenses will be deducted. Please give generously on your way out!
The raffle of the day will be drawn the interval when light refreshment will be provided.

7.30 pm Festival Finale: music of stage & screen
devised and presented by Graham Jackson (Preston) piano, with Judith Brown (Reigate), piano; Laurence Newnes (Leyland), baritone; Jacqui Veazey (Blackpool) contralto and the Bolton Chamber Choir, this is an evening of piano solos and duets, songs (some to join in if you wish), all taken from your favourite films and shows with humour - lots of fun and light entertainment

11 am & 2 pm origami workshops with tutor STEPHEN WATSON
Those who took part in previous years will remember with pleasure Stephen Watson's workshops - free, all materials provided and no experience needed. This year's workshops will surely be no exception.

2 pm EDDY WILLIAMS' Water Colour Workshop part II
 The workshop will run from 2 pm  to  5 pm

Please register not less than 2 days in advance for all workshops  since available accommodation will limit the number of participants. Full details of all workshops will be published ina  separate leaflet in the run up to Festival.
