The photography competition is in three sections:
SECTION 1. Under 16, print or digital. Any awards will be in the form of equipment, materials or vouchers; commendations may also be given. Entries must be accompanied by an entry form (no fee) & must include age. Digital entries may be e-mailed to <festival.photos@btinternet.com>.
SECTION 2. PRINTS - 16 years and over. 1st prize - £200; 2nd £100; 3rd £50
SECTION 3. DIGITAL - 16 years and over; 1st prize - £200; 2nd £100; 3rd £50
At the judges’ discretion additional awards or commendations may be made or any award withheld.
RULES OF ENTRY: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - All entries must be
1 - mounted on card or framed - if framed, with mirror plates or equivalent for hanging;
2 - original, recent and not previously entered for this competition;
3 - labelled clearly on reverse with owner’s name, address, phone number, title, price if for sale*, NFS if not;
4 - accompanied by an entry form and (16 + entries) a non-refundable fee of £3 per item.
5. There is no limit on the number of items which can be submitted. 6. Entries will be judged by a panel of adjudicators chaired by professional artist Martin Cullen and items selected for exhibition. The decisions of the adjudicators will be final.
7 - Entries not selected for exhibition may be collected during Festival opening hours.
8 - Insurance is a matter for owners: neither Festival Committee nor Ampleforth Abbey Trustees can accept liability for loss or damage.

10 - Accepted entries must be collected from the church between 11 am & 4 pm Sat 12th May †
11 - Postal entries are accepted for photo competitions provided that i) they are received before the submission date ii) a clearly addressed return label stamped with adequate return postage is enclosed. Entries will be returned in the same packaging in which they are received: it is the sender’s responsibility to ensure that it is adequate.

13 - Digital entries may be on DVD, CD or flash drive & can be sent by post as above. (NOT by e-mail.) Return, if required, is subject to inclusion of SAE. There must be no screen visible title or name on digital entries. This will be added after judging.
*Commission of 20% (rounded down to next £) is payable on all sales income.
